Welcome. Whether you are an older Asian adult who is desires to remain healthy and safe in your home in Northern Virginia, or a family member or close neighbor of an older Asian American in need of care, we are developing programs to assist you. We are a nonprofit community organization that seeks to help older Asian Americans in Northern Virginia to overcome language and other obstacles to find bilingual and culturally sensitive care to help them live well and healthy in their homes and communities.

Evergreen Senior Care held its first ever Senior Activities Day for active Mandarin-speaking older adults living in Northern Virginia.  For four hours on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, thirty-five Mandarin-speaking participants danced, sang karaoke, played mahjong, and had a delicious lunch delivered from Peter Pan Buffet in Fairfax.

Two types of dancing sessions were held by well-known local instructors.  Lily Lo taught a class for Yuan-Chi Dance and Eli Chen led the Line Dancing.

Evergreen Senior Care is hosting its Activities Day at the Chesterbrook Taiwanese Presbyterian Church at 2036 Westmoreland Street in Falls Church, Virginia.  Thanks to the kindness of the Chesterbrook Taiwanese Presbyterian Church, Evergreen is offering the activity sessions free of charge to older adults who feel young.

Evergreen’s Activity Day for Mandarin-speaking seniors are a great way to make friends, stay on the move, and learn new things.  Evergreen is planning subsequent Activities Day at the Chesterbrook Taiwanese Presbyterian Church on December 13, 2011, January 10, 2012, and for Chinese New Year on January 24, 2012.

Evergreen welcomes interested Mandarin-speaking volunteers of any age who would like to assist Evergreen with the logistics of hosting Activities Day as a way of contributing to our community to support our elders and appreciate our heritages.
